Opinion and Conclusion of steroids

Opinion and Conclusion
Steroids have long been a topic for debate. Are they dangerous or aren’t they? The government seems to think that latter because steroids have been illegal for nearly a quarter of a century. However, use is at an all time high and as reported earlier, the black market earns over a billion dollars on the illegal sale of steroids. Steroids use is a very serious offense when it comes to high school, college, and pro sports. Steroids are strictly prohibited and the fines and penalties are very strict. That is not to say that it does not go on. Ben Johnson an Olympic runner from Canada was stripped of a gold medal in the 1988 Seoul, South Korea Olympics after testing positive for anabolic steroids. (Kowalski, 1999) However, it seems obvious that more needs to be done about the prevention and enforcement of laws and regulations dealing with steroids. One of the biggest markets for steroids is teenage boys, and yet I never heard a word in high school about the dangers and side effects of steroids
